The snook are going nuts and we can’t bait the hooks fast enough. Fortunately, we are getting plenty of bait to to keep them chummed up. Our greenbacks are on the flats and if it stays like that we should keep the snook bite going.

The red fish are still on the flats and schooling around oyster bars and mangrove passes. For some awesome drag pulling action.there is nothing like nice red fish ripping braid off your reel. These guys can offer some “reel” excitement on your next fishing trip.

Tampa Bay seems to getting a great influx of spotted sea trout. More than I’ve seen in quite a while especially on the deeper grass flats. We had a banner sea trout day a week ago Monday; we must have caught around 25 sea trout with 6 in the slot. We also had several snook and a mackerel at that spot.

Speaking of mackerel there is plenty still around and the reel screaming action is unbelievable. When you get some of the larger “Mac’s” on it’s almost like catching a small kingfish. Now if you’re looking for a fight look no further one of Tampa Bay’s giant yellow tail jack cravalles. They are showing up to around 20 lbs. and these big guys will wear you out and make sit down and have a coke when the battle is over.
